Sports Massage

What makes Sports Massage different from the popular Swedish massage are advanced techniques and the Therapist. Both types of massage use Effleurage (French meaning “to skim” or “to touch lightly), Petrissage (from French pétrir, “to knead”) and Tapotement (French “Tapoter” meaning “to tap” or “to drum”.

In addition to the basic massage techniques other modalities would include myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage. The therapist will start with doing a postural assessment and if needed an Orthopedic assessment.

The therapist that knows how to do a medical massage is committed to higher standards of continuing education, so that they will have the knowledge to be able to apply massage therapy techniques to various conditions.
